Introducing our Industry Partners | 2024 Xplore Program
Following in the steps of Tech: Biotech companies driving innovation through budding talent.
Within the the Tech industry, some of the greatest companies and ideas have come from, guess what…
YOUNG people.
So why is it that we don’t use these young-chronologically-aged brains in biotech?
At LongX, we have been fortunate to have our Industry partners be some of the most cutting-edge in not just their technology, but also their approach to growth. By taking on our fellows they joined us in our efforts to widen the bottleneck of talent and advance the aging and longevity field.
But before we share these companies we wanted to briefly answer:
What is the Xplore Program?
The Xplore Program targets young longevity enthusiasts, regardless of background, ideology and geographical location, built from the ground up to introduce and give them the opportunity and means to contribute to the longevity space.
It consists of 3 stages:
A Longevity Primer Course, for the students to reach a baseline of knowledge about aging biology and the longevity biotech industry through course modules, assignments, and fireside chats with experts,
An Incubator designed to focus on interests and build skills at the intersection of longevity, aging, and biotech. Through a series of interactive workshops, practical assignments, and collaborative think tank sessions, students explore and decode the roles and functions within the industry and drive innovation within their CDEs.
A Career Development Experience (CDE), to apply their learning in a practical, real-world setting alongside our industry partners. Dedicated LongX mentors assist/manage the Xplorers throughout the CDE on a 1-on-1 basis, ensuring a smooth experience for the students and companies alike.
In parallel, Fireside Chats with experts and specialized workshops were held, emphasizing the importance of networking and real-life skill development for every entry-stage professional.
The first cohort ran between June and August 2024, with a fellowship showcase on September 7th.
Introducing our 2024 Industry Partners
AgeRate
AgeRate leverages advanced epigenetic testing to provide personalized insights into biological aging, guiding users to optimize their longevity. Through a simple at-home blood test, Agerate offers tailored recommendations for diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Their CLIA and CAP-certified labs deliver reliable, physician-reviewed results, empowering individuals to benchmark their health and take proactive steps toward a healthier and longer life.
Aurora Fit
AuroraFit (stealth), is focused on democratizing longevity treatments starting with their personalized UVB light therapy tailored to individual metabolic profiles, determined via detailed blood biomarker analysis. Their approach uses science-based methods to improve metabolism and promote healthy weight loss, and ultimately longevity.
SeneXell
SeneXell pioneers a platform for identifying and targeting new and unpatented longevity regulators to combat cellular senescence and its consequences to aging diseases, offering novel therapies for improved quality of life. SeneXell is a Longaevus Technologies project.
Tomorrow Biostasis
Tomorrow Biostasis is the world's fastest-growing cryopreservation provider. It offers services for both whole-body and brain-only cryopreservation, presumably indefinitely but particularly until medical technology reaches a point where it can extend your life. The non-profit, long-term vision of the company is highlighted through their financial model and rigour before death as well as during cryopreservation.
Vincere Biosciences
Vincere Biosciences develops small molecules to tackle age-related decline, starting with their highly selective USP30 inhibitors that enhance mitophagy. Of particular importance to Parkinson’s disease patients, these inhibitors demonstrate mitophagy increase in the brain, and accelerated recovery in multiple acute kidney injury models.
We are thankful for the support provided by our industry partners. Looking forward to working with them on these exciting missions, in turn.
Conclusion
At LongX, our mission is to educate and empower the next generations of longevity enthusiasts to contribute meaningfully to the space, regardless of their location, talents and skills.
By getting this far, we already consider you a Longevity Xplorer. So regardless if you are a student, partnered institution, collaborator on a project, or a supporter, there are ways for you to help us in our efforts to push the needle forward. It’s only through collaboration, creating opportunity, and a dash of dedication that we can hope for growth.
