Supporting the first steps in your longevity career
Applications open for the 2025 cohort of the Xplore Program!
The Xplore Program exists to empower early-stage professionals and students during their first steps in the longevity space. As LongX co-founders, the lack of such resources and supporting tools was the reason why we founded this initiative: the entry barrier into the field has to lower, if we want to bring interdisciplinarity, global talent, and young innovative thinkers and doers into this field of the future.
If you decided to dedicate part-time efforts toward longevity and are intrigued by such educational and career development opportunities, apply here.
Key information about the program:
Yearly summer cohorts of 15-20 students, covering varied geographies and backgrounds. The program is 100% remote.
Stage 1: Education. LongX developed courses covering main topics in aging biology and the longevity industry. To proceed to the next phases of the program, cohort members must complete the course and associated assignments.
Stage 2: Incubator. Our in-house project and skill accelerator. We run fireside chats with industry professionals, alongside a series of workshops and mock trials for our cohort to prepare for the requirements and nuances of innovating in biotech.
Stage 3: Career Development Experience (CDE). You work with a longevity biotech company for 2-3 months. See our 2024 industry partners list here. Can start as early as late May/June.
Key information for you:
Your profile: student (undergraduate, graduate) or early career professional, motivated to expand or leverage your skills and apply them in the longevity biotech industry. Prior knowledge and experience in longevity or biotechnology are appreciated but not necessary.
Expectations: Weekly time commitment of 5-10 hours/week during the course and incubator stages. Commitment during the CDE varies based on placement.
CDE skills and pay: In 2024, students contributed with skills ranging from market research and business development to programming and media production. CDE compensation is dependent on the partner company you are placed with.
What LongX offers:
Education: free access to LongX educational material on fundamentals of aging biology and longevity biotech.
Mentorship: each fellow will be mentored throughout the program by a LongX team member to fill in knowledge gaps and ensure smooth project execution. Regular check-ins will be coordinated with both you and the company.
Placement: Each student is matched by us with an industry partner based on the fit between what the student has to offer and what your company seeks (w.r.t. skills, ideology, time commitment, etc.).
